Description
NOVATEN® is a synthetic veterinary tendon with unique biomechanical properties. It allows the reconstruction or reinforcement of several tendons in pets. Reinforcement or reconstruction of tendons with NOVATEN® makes it possible to avoid rigid postoperative immobilizations, such as the use of an external fixator. This therefore promotes a rapid recovery.
Composed of medical grade UHMWPE fibers, this synthetic tendon is perfectly biocompatible. Its unique design provides superior biomechanical properties compared to native tendons, high abrasion resistance, porosity promoting tissue colonization, and a protective effect on the bone in which it is anchored.
The implant is studied in partnership with universities and a team of specialist surgeons. NOVATEN® is used today in more than ten surgical applications, and supported by scientific publications.
NOVATEN® is available in several sizes to adapt to the joint and the size of the patient.
