09 Sep 2019 Testimonial -Kaal 6 years old, Male Doberman
Student at the University of Aix Marseille I am accompanied for nearly two years by a Doberman named Kaal. I crossed his road by chance while going as volunteer at Refuge de l’espoir in Mougins (06). That Monday it was cold, very cold, ... It was deep in the kennel so as not to scare the newcomers with its impressive shape. I saw pointed ears from afar, and I immediately turned to him. I learned about his past life (Abandoned twice in 4 years) Wishing only to be loved, we adopted ourselves.
February 12, 2019 Alternating studies and walks, I noticed that for a few days he was hesitant to get on the couch, he always chose the right leg to jump. So I went to see a veterinarian in Marseille who diagnosed a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the left leg, recommending a surgery by a veterinarian specialist in orthopedic surgery.
February 19, 2019 A X-ray control was carried out at the veterinary school of Lyon, in addition to the clinical examination to confirm the diagnosis. Surgery was decided to treat this CCL rupture.
February 20, 2019 The surgeon who did the surgery to Kaal offers me to try a prototype, a cryotherapy brace with compression, immediately postoperatively. The splint is to be placed 10 minutes, 3 times a day for 7 days on the operated knee of my dog. So I accepted the surgeon's advice, my dog was not confident that I put this brace the first time just where he had the surgery. Yet, after a first day of use, I realize that my dog is claiming his 10-minute cold therapy. Once it was placed, my dog would immediately go resting without trying to remove it or even to touch it. Thanks to the brace, the oedema due to the surgical act quickly resorbed and my dog became cheerful by wanting to play with me again.
March 12, 2019 Kaal still suffers from residual lameness on the operated limb, an ultrasound reveals quadriceps tendinitis consecutive to the surgical procedure chosen to treat his CCL rupture. The surgeon recommends to continue to use the cryotherapy brace with compression in the same way but for 3 weeks this time. 15 days later Kaal no longer limps.
Thanks to the various veterinarians and staff and Novetech Surgery for the well being and comfort of Kaal.
